Boating deaths down but life jackets needed: OPP

TORONTO - The province has seen a 10-year drop in boating fatalities, the Ontario Provincial Police reports.

But of the 20 deaths last year, 17 may have been avoided if the victim had been wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) or life jacket, police say.
