What is the difference between Level A, C and HCP CPR?
Level A CPR is adult only CPR, Level C includes adult, child and baby CPR while Level HCP (Health Care Provider) includes Level C CPR plus 2 rescuer CPR and use of a Bag-Valve-Mask.
Can I take a recertification course?
In order to qualify for a first aid recertification course in Ontario with First Aid Ottawa you must hold a valid Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid certification. This means:
- Your card cannot be expired (it expires 3 years to the day after it was issued)
- Your previous course was a 2 day Standard First Aid course (if you previously took a recertification course you must take the whole course again).
- Your card must be issued by the Canadian Red Cross. If you card is from another agency you must recertify through them).
As an individual, how do I know which course to take?
If you need the course for work as your employer (or your school) which course you need. There are 2 levels of Basic First Aid (Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid) and they should specify which one need.
As en employer, how do I know which course my employees need?
If you are Provincially governed check with www.WSIB.on.ca. If you are Federally governed check the Canada Labour Code.
I lost my certification card. How can I get a replacement?
Replacement cards are issued by the Canadian Red Cross. You can request a replacement by calling 1-877-356-3226.
